I wonder if anyone is getting some sort of confirmation of what I half-suspected from the beginning, which is that Alexa is ALWAYS actively listening. I have had the following experience several times in the last week. One of my kids will mention a song he wants to hear, I will tell him that's not in our library, but I'll put on Pandora and maybe it will play soon. So I ask Alexa to play the appropriate Pandora station and, boom, the exact song plays right off. This has happened three times in a week. And not for popular songs.

This was part of the initial learning curve for the Alexa/Echo development team. Initially all of the info would go up to the Alexa servers but security concerns have stopped that. At this time your voice info only goes to Alexa's servers when you say Alexa or whatever your command name is.
